What are some good country songs from the last 20 years?

If you had to tell someone a list of modern country songs they should listen to and add to their music collection, what would they be?

I like Vince Gill, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Joe Diffie, Tim McGraw, Sugarland, Dixie Chicks and the like, but haven't listened exclusively to country so I've only got snippets here and there of the most recent past twenty years of it....

turn on a country radio station and listen to it for a few hours. Most play a variety of the new stuff and some of the older songs. Just listen and you'll learn. Or you can google and find the billboard hits from the past 20 years.

Ty Herndon had many hits in the 90's and they are all still good songs. He also has some new stuff out that is just the best he's ever done.

Add Brooks & Dunn and George Strait to your list. Both have had many hits over the last 20 years.

But I'm also partial to "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks for a rowdy song, and "Love, Me" by Collin Raye for a ballad.

Try Brad Paisley and Toby Keith. They're good starters for anyone.

I would recommend, though, just listening to a country station on your way to and from work. It'll catch you up more than you might think.
