English Grammar Question?

What do you call words that derive from other words like

Success, successful, succeed, succeeded, successfully

What are they called? And I am not refering to conjugations; that is for tenses.

Thank you!

The root word and its derivations. When you add to the end these are called suffixes and when you place at the beginning like un- pre-fixes

They are called derivatives. We often refer to it as "word building". Students tend to hate such activities! LOL

I would have said "derivatives" rather than "derivations".
