CD-R - Recording problems?

My CD-R records information and pictures normaly * IF there is some information on the disc. However, It will not record anything on a new Sony CD-R. When I try to record a sign pops up and it says the disc is full.

Can anyone steer me in the correct direction. I have seperate CD recordable and DVD trays if that's of any help.

Thanks to all of you.

try format the disc, right click on the disc item and select format (put disk in macheine go to my computer, then right click on disc item and format) Note: one you have put something on the disc you canot delete it and put another thing on it unless its a CD-RW which means you can re write on it.

Are you sure your writer uses CD-R disks. Some only use CD+R ones. Some use both. If not sur go to Control Panel, Click on System, click on hardware, then hardware devices. Then go to DVD CD writers. Find yours and the go to the manufactures web site and look up your drive.

i think of the difficulty is the laser/optic on your force. if this is the difficulty, then you definately would ought to replace your cdrw force with a clean one, through fact the cost of a clean optic is almost the comparable as a clean force
