Measure your shoe from front to back. Walking heel to toe, pace out one side of the lot, and then multiply that by the length of your shoe. Do the same on one more side. Do the same math. Now multiply those numbers. Then divide by twelve to translate this figure into feet.

Hmm......ask your old where is his property title; land lot area should be indicate somewhere there sometimes along with a map of it. If your old has lost it, call the town council or state land/building record/property title departments & ask where is the record of your property and you can buy a certified copy. If you don't know how to do it, engage a lawyer to get it or a land surveyor to survey the land size (Which cost more). If you want to do it yourself, even with the correct measuring tools, I don't think we are expert enough unless it's a very small flat & rectangular lot ie. Even with a lot more than 4 different sides at odd angles, you will surely have difficulty in calculating the correct area.

Take nice long strides, that should equal about 1 yard. Thats 3 feet. Do this on two sides of said lot then multiply the two numbers and you"ve got the square footage.Good Luck

Walk it off. take large steps. multiply length by width. each step will be around three feet. If your unsure of how long your step is, go to some place that has has 12" floor tile and step like you did at the lot. Measure your step and do the math and you will be surprised and how close you can come to the exact length.
