Portland Blazer fans does this give you hope?

Ok, I was sorry to hear about Oden - but has anyone thought of it this way....

in 1996-97 - David Robinson of the Spurs got hurt. He was out just about all season as I recall. The Spurs then landed the lottery pick and got Duncan. So - with Oden out the Blazers very well may have a lottery pick next year - and build a dominant type dynasty - like the Spurs. They get another young franchise type player.

So Blazer fans - do you see some hope now?

Also, apparently the only other person to miss their rookie year after being the first overall pick in the draft was David Robinson (commitment to the Navy).

ED: to the above: Jason Kidd, Amare Stoudamire, and Zach Randolph are doing okay...

I'm not a Blazer fan, but I never am happy when I hear the words "microfracture surgery."

I'm still not sure what "microfracture surgery" is, but I've NEVER heard of an athlete who came back from it well.

I didn't think of Robinson when this happened. I thought of Danny Manning who went from superstar to journeyman in one injury.

as a jazz fan let me tell you that some players are worth waiting for their injuries to heal, im talking about Carlos Boozer
