What would you do if you were lost in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night?

A group of fraternity pledges was driven blindfolded out into the countryside, then left in the middle of nowhere. The pledges uncovered their eyes to find themselves surrounded by fields--no buildings in sight, no signs on the road to give them direction.

The pledges didn't know what to do--until one of them said, "Let's go that way."

    "Why?" the other pledges asked.

"Because the power lines are converging in that direction. The city must be that way."

Assuming U R in fact traveling (by car) I'd pull over, consult a map and try to figure where i might be in relation to where I'm going!

If its country I'd then continue until I arrived at a junction as other traffic would probably be passing thru to signal for help!

If nothing then I'd stay there hold tight and display any markers I might have i. e. signifying broken down with attendant lamps on. Doors locked as a precaution!

At daylight I'd proceed in the general direction intended and stop at the first house or whatever for instructions etc.

As a precaution whenever I'm now going on long trips I fill up regularly, have food, drinks, a map, torch with me + a blanket and waterproof gear.

I was fortunate as a local police car pulled up and woke me up, wanted to know what I was doing! After he checked - satisfied I was legitimate - he led the way into a small village (turning off the main drag a few miles up ahead)

He advised what to do / carry in future (as above) which I've done ever since & study my map before I set off especially if its way out in the country. Simple rules, worth their weight in gold. Haven't had any real problems since!

I would phone a friend, ask the audience, or take a 50/50 chance. Ha! Nah... I would actually call the police like that other person said...

Hon, I would hunker down out of the elements and keep out of sight of any maleficent person or persons, until first light and then I would start travelling in the direction of nearest civilization.

    Good question!
