Is it worth it to spend either $115 or $188 for 1 ticket to see Bob Dylan & Elvis Costello?

I would only want 1 ticket, because I would go by myself. My husband would freak out if he knew I would spend that much of my money, besides if he went with me he wouldnt let me buy a t-shirt, and he is basically a wet blanket, I will have more fun by myself. I can tell him "someone" gave me the ticket or I can figure out something!

Your man wont go to a concert with you because of ticket prices? Damn. I always buy a t-shirt, usually a $30-50 longsleeve whenever I go to a show, and if I went with you I'd get 2. All men can be wet blankets at times but yours sounds like a permanent one. Back to your question. I've paid up to $200 a ticket for some shows, the last one was Megadeth, I got to meet and have lunch with Dave Mustaine and it was fricking great.

How bad do you want to go to this concert?

I ask, because that's the question you should ask yourself.

It actually sounds quite good value to me, especially when tickets to see The Police are going for about $160 here in the UK (that's the cheap tickets, by the way... I hate to think what the good seats go for).

If this were Pink Floyd, with Roger Waters back in the band, then I personally would commit various sordid and unpleasant acts, most of which would probably get me excommunicated, to get hold of a ticket, so I know how you feel.

The question is: is this something you HAVE to do, or something you would LIKE to do?

Value wise, it doesn't sound too bad to me (although I paid $190 for a 3-day festival with about 40 bands playing about 3 months ago) given the status of the performers, and the rarity of getting the both on the same bill.

Now my dad, being a huge Dylan fan, would do this without question, if it were near enough for him to travel. So just weigh up how much you want it, and if you really need this, then do it.

Sorry about this answer. My fiancee has promised me a box of fences to sit on for Christmas...

Talk him into going. Bob Dylan is worth seeing b/c he's so old, he might stop touring at any minute. The experience you will have will be priceless.

I suppose it is subjective to how much you like the two. I know a couple of my friends are going to that concert when it comes to town.
