i am looking for a desk that has cabinet type doors on each side. i want the desk to be long .?
it needs to go across one wall if possible with the top all one piece, without having it custom built. the desk would be in the center . i want it long so i can fit my printer,fax, and laptop on top of it and due to my needing to get rid of my wall unit to make room for this i would need both sides of the bottom of the desk to have cabinet doors so i can put my liquor on one side and my printer paper,dvd and cd accessories on the other side so that they would be hidden from view. any ideas on where i can find such a piece of furniture?i sure would appreciate it. thanks in advance.also, very important is that i do not want anything above the height of the desk like cubby holes and places to put mail etc. i want a long desktop and cabinets below.

I did this in my office....
1) install shelving track on the wall you want the "desk" to be on (you can get this at Home Depot or Menards, or other like store). Put tracking no more than 4 feet apart for stability.
2) for desk surface, purchase shelving of appropriate depth - I put in 24 inch deep shelving which can be purchased in varying lengths for my laptop and my extra monitor
3) purchase prefab cabinets at same store - they are white melamine or fake wood, depending on what look you want and fairly cheep. You can also purchase different height rolling carts for drawer storage.
The nice think about putting up shelving track is that if you want to extend upward with more shelving in the future, you can!
