kevin jones is available as a free agent?
who should i drop from my team to pick him up?
warrick dunn? DeAngelo Williams or Deuce McAllister? or nobody?
Chris Brown, LaMont Jordan, Brandon Jackson, Derrick Ward are not available as free agents.
i'm in a 8 team PPR league.
Warrick Dunn, DeAngelo Williams, Deuce McAllister and Derrick Ward are my bench RBs. my starters are LJ and Macgahee. Just looking to stash someone on my bench for depth later on. so maybe i should ask does kevin jones have more potential upside than any of my bench running backs?

Right now I would let him be a FA.
He isn't worth jack to your team until he is fully healthy. After week 6 should be the time when Jones comes back to play. Even then he will probably be splitting carries with Bell until he can get himself back to full speed. Bell is showing that he wants to keep his starting position and that he is going to be worth it.
Still, Jones is projected as the #1 on the depth chart and RB, and once he comes back, will be the man to have in DET.
At this very moment, I say let him sit there in FA. Week 6 is along way away and a lot could change between now and then.
Good luck!!

I probably wouldn't bother.
He's a long-shot to make a meaningful contribution with his Lisfranc injury. He's running and participating in practice, but I don't think he'll be at all durable. If someone rolls over that foot, adios.
True that Tatum Bell has been nothing special (decent), but even if he earned half the carries, I don't think Jones would be anything more than a spot fill-in for you.
I would keep Dunn, Williams and Deuce. They all have upside, and far less injury concern.
Deuce should be your guy most weeks. The Saints will get back on track, and that means running to open up the pass.

Kevin Jones is available in almost every league. Check the Draft part of your league for proof.
Why?
1) Tatum Bell is doing well. Lions had to run against Minnesota this week, which hurts any RB.
2) The plan is to pass more. Kitna will throw 40-50 times. Less runs for RBs.
3) Jones is slated to come back off the PUP list Week 6, provided he's still able to play. No guarantee he will even make it, much less get 50/50 carries with Tatum Bell.
Get instead:
Chris Brown
LaMont Jordan
Brandon Jackson
Derrick Ward

Well Jones hasn't done squat as a starter in DET. He will be back in the next few weeks but who knows if he will even start as Bell has been decent so far.
But DeAngelo Williams is an even bigger joke. He part of a dual-back system but is the secondary back. Plus CAR's o-line is absolutely terrible. So don't look for Williams or Foster to have much of a fantasy impact.
All that said I would drop Williams and take a chance on Jones.

Well, since he's injured and plays on a 4-5 running back team with a pass first offense I would say nobody.

Should be healthy in a week or so. I have him on my team.
