question about noise and neighbors......?

I have a neighbor that I don't know, and he's always playing his music very loud. Today I've been fighting a very bad migraine, and he started again with his music...(to me right now all it is is noise). I went outside walking around in my yard to make sure it was this particular neighbor, and I didn't say one word to him, but he told me to kiss his....... What would you do? Would you call the police, or let it go? And he still has that noise up very loud! What would you do?

Update:

well, for now, it's quiet outside. I didn't have to do anything so far. I think someone else did. Thanks so far for the input. As for the migraine, it was brought on by sinus problems, and I manage to do a lot with a migraine. It had subsided a bit, and I was feeling like going outside. I don't like to lay around, it makes me feel worse.

i can sympathize as i get migraines too. it doesn't sound as if he would care about anybody else's feelings. why don't you call the police to find out what the noise limit is in your area as far as disturbing others. I know here they say if you can hear it 75 ft away, you can complain. some people just don't give a **** about their neighbors...i used to have neighbors that did the same thing, playing really loud annoying music, and man, it used to ***me off ! thankfully, they finally moved.....

nicely, you're kinda between a rock & a tricky place, as they say. i might attempt with courtesy chatting along with your upstairs buddies, yet opportunities are high, it won't exchange something. maximum folk don't understand how LOUD issues sound to the downstairs citizens. For starters.....get a number of those actual comfortable squishy earplugs & attempt utilising them at evening so which you would be able to sleep. 2nd....through fact the subject neighbor is the managers son, attempt explaining the area, and doubtless the government can relocate them to a downstairs apt.?? they actually do no longer might desire to be upstairs with a small baby working around. furnish to help them circulate, if mandatory. house residing could be frustrating, at ultimate. good success!

I would probably call the cops. I despise people who are rude, and telling you to kiss his ______ is rude and uncalled for. However, if it's not past like 9pm and it's not super loud you may want to just try to ignore it. If you're really that ill with a migraine you wouldn't be walking around outside or typing questions on Yahoo.

I would talk with OTHER neighbors, is his music bothering them also? If so, why not go as a group to his door and let him know how he is bothering everyone.

Every city his its own noise ordnance. Check with your local police and found out how they handle noise abatement. That might actually be your first step.

Good luck. I, too, dislike noisy neighbors.

call the cops, there is a noise ordinance in every city. I have the same problem with the neighbor who bangs his drums to the same beat for nearly 4 hours every nite.

He sounds threatening.. I would consider either calling your landlord or calling the police.. be careful with calling the police though.. they can only give your neighbour a formal warning about the noise.. you night be at risk of more threats by this man. Just be careful.. speak with your landlord.

He doesent sound like he is worth the pain at all, i wouldnt call 9/11 unless he started getting really annoyuing. Good Luck.

I wouldn't take that crap, either the racket or being sworn at. And I wouldn't waste my time with the cops. At 3 am you smash half his windows out and get inside; when the cops show - and they will - deny knowing anything about it. Next day leave a note saying "too loud". And "PS: be polite to me."

tell him off properly but good luck still! right now my neighbor on the right is lawn mowing, sooo loud! anyway, my friends just moved to a new place 2 wks ago since they told their neighbor off to minimize his loud music.. they got his finger, a punch on their mailbox, and a "you guys better be watching your back"

best to report him to the police before it's too late

i really dislike people like that. so inconsiderate i'd say. i'm not sure what the laws are, but there should be one against that kind of thing. how late is it? i think after a certain time u can call the cops on them.
