Does anyone have a Shiba Inu?
And if so, how can I get it to stop biting?

I'm going to assume that you didn't buy your Shiba from a reputable breeder, otherwise you should/would be asking them.
Shibas are VERY independent dogs. They were bred to hunt and can be extremely difficult to train, especially for someone getting this breed as their first dog, or even for experienced dog people.
The best advice I can give you is to do some research. The best place to start is the National Shiba Inu Club website.
There are EXCELLENT insights into the breed along with recommendations as to training.
I have shown Shibas and worked with breeders...they aren't the breed for me.

I take it you have a puppy and it is play biting? If so, same as with any other breed. As soon as s/he starts biting, stop paying him any attention, withdraw your hands, fold your arms & don't even look at the puppy. If he bites hard shout Ow!! and stop playing. If he persists, shut him away for a few minutes until he's calmed down. Make sure he has plenty of his own toys to chew & if he's chewing you, offer a toy instead.
