How do I treat dog poop so the dog won't re poop in the same place?

Some dog left a present in my front yard right by my steps. I know that dogs often prefer to return to places that they have already marked. Since I have no idea what dog it is, I'd like to treat the poop or area to make in offensive to them so that they'll move on. Can I pour something on that area? I was thinking bleach, vinegar or ammonia. Any ideas? Thanks so much.

    NOT ammonia!!!

Make a blend of 1/4 c dishwashing soap, 1/4 c Listerine (gold color) and 3 gallons of water.
