Has State Senator Ernie Chambers finally flipped his wig????

He's suing god for terrorism. WHAT IS THAT ABOUT!!!!

Update:

I would be emarrassed for myself if I had voted him into office. It's a good thing he got voted into office by the people from eastern Nebraska. I had nothing to do with it. He's a nut case if you ask me.

Just another Liberal Democrat trying to get some headlines on CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, and MSNBC. Is the ACLU his lawyers?

he thinks he's making a point about how the court must remain open to frivolous lawsuits... i think it's just making things worse for his side. i mean he wants the courts to stay open to this stuff and the other side is going to use it as an example of the abuse that people use our legal system for. the dockets are crowded and we have morons suing over nothing... there's no better example for that than this lawsuit seeking an injunction to stop God from doing natural disasters and terrorist attacks. If I was the judge, I'd tell him to get out of my courtroom and I'd charge him with contempt for wasting my time. Aside from the obvious problem that the court has no personal jurisdiction over God who obviously will not personally avail himself by coming to trial (despite Chambers' assertion that God is omnipresent and therefore personally present in Nebraska), if this suit actually went forward enough, Chambers would have to prove that God has exclusive control over those things... we know 3rd parties perform terrorist attacks, so that's out. And we might be able to argue that it's not just God, but also Mother Nature who is responsible for the natural disasters... and maybe even all of us since we're responsible for global warming... if you want to believe Al Gore.

Chambers is making a point. In politics, especially when dealing with mad dogs and Republicans, sometimes a sense of humor and the absurd reaches the brain-dead better than normalcy.

"Chambers filed the suit to make a point that the state constitution allows lawsuits to be filed for any reason."

"Chambers says he decided to file the lawsuit in part as a response to other lawmakers who have tried to prevent lawsuits from being filed over the years and in part due to a high profile sexual assault case in Lancaster County. In that case, there is an ongoing clash over a judge's order preventing the use of the word "rape" and other words at trial."

I think that that is the single most hilarious story I've heard in a looong time. This tops the whole suing the cleaners thing by a mile and then some.

I just had a friend from Germany send me an email about that. Kinda makes you wonder about our politicians in this country.
