Why didn't Barry Manilow want to be on The View?

Barry Manilow afraid of Elizabeth Hasselback. He's a bigger weenie than his songs are. After they gave him the boot, he acted like it was his idea not to appear because he might compromise his ideals. Come on Barry, its just a TV show. Be a man for once.

Barry just recorded a song with Rosie, who has major issues with Elizabeth. Rosie is hyper sensitive and Barry thought that by not having Elizabeth interview him, it would be a show of loyalty to his friend. I admire him for sticking by his friend, but ultimately Rosie was way too sensitive and the View is about expressing opinions. Still you have to believe loyalty to a friend is refreshing in the dog eat dog world of Hollywood.

If people are not going to buy his cd's for that then they were prolly never going to buy his cd any ol' way.

If Bar is going to be on when Lizzy is on maternity leave then Bar is the winner because if Bahbah and Bill Gedde were really behind Lizzy they wouldn't reschedule him at all.

This is more publicity for Lizzy than Barry. Nobody knows or cares who she is.

He's been on the view previous times with Elizabeth sitting on the couch. It was his "people" that didn't want her to be there. Barbara(Walters) and Bill(Getty) the exec. producers told them that it was either everyone or no one. They also said today that he will be on at a later date.

He refused to be on stage with Elizabeth Hasselbeck because he didn't agree with her views on certain topics and thought she was "dangerous and offensive". I peronally think that's pretty stupid and immature. He should just grow up and get over it. And yea, talk about plastic surgery...

i love that they all stick together! sometimes i disagree with elizabeth but she is part of the view family. if barry can't accept it then don't come on the show anymore. props to bill and barbra!!!

because for some reason when it comes to conservatives, people cannot agree to disagree, they diss.

i'm upset about it also. he was going there to talk music, not politics. even rosie could agree with elizabeth when it came to music.

because he is friends with Rosie and he figures if he goes on the show he will be dissing Rosie somehow... :S
