How can I get from Kisumu, Kenya to Mbale, Uganda?

Are there buses? If I hire a driver, how long would it take and how much might it cost?

    usually u go by bus -from Nairobi to Kisumu to Uganda.

    otherwise go with truck-drivers!

    Mbale is 170 kms from Kisumu via Bungoma nd Buituru. Plenty of buses ply on tis route. It will take you 3-4 hours consiedring immigration clearance at border. Cost by bus US$12 and by pivately hired cab/car US$ 400

    Yes,its possible & there are several buses (comfortable ones and non comfortable ones)

    Comfortable like Scandinavia,Akamba Royal.
