Do radio stations test the emergency broadcast system on certain days?
I was wondering if all radio stations use a certain day each month to test the emergency broadcast system. We have many different radio stations on at work and it always seems that you hear tests on the same day.
I am in the United States.

Yeah, I think they have a certain window of time to conduct their tests each month.

I suspect that this is happening because so many radio stations are owned and operated by the same large corporation, even within one region. Like Clearchannel. Ever notice that the same lousy oldie song will suddenly be revived on a few stations at the same time too? lol. No, not really funny though....I don't want my region to be dominated by one broadcaster, than you don't get enough diversity of news, music, ads, or public service announcements, not to mention variety of Emergency broadcast tests! (ok, I am lol about that!)
And I miss the good old "this is a test, only a test, of the EMB system...." The short buzzy sound works, but I bet it doesn't really teach people to recognize what it is. It only works if you know what it means. Maybe the stations don't care if we understand what the test noise means....

It depends upon the country that you are in .
The government radio authorities have differing requirements.
If the station closes at night they may do some tests then.
If its a 24 hour station they may do some test that you don't actually notice (like a re-routing of feeds to the transmitter site or at the station)
In my area I haven't head an emergency test for YEARSSSSS., but I'me sure they are still carried out.

because of the fact they decide to ruin in spite of you're gazing so as which you will merely supply in and go out and purchase it besides. comparable with all the different random crap they continuously have littered everywhere in the exhibit: trademarks, promos for different shows, time/temperature updates, lottery numbers, information a pair of convenience keep theft thats 420 miles away taking part in persistently around the backside or good of the exhibit in some neon orange field that takes up 1 / 4 of the image, etc, etc. And, on the grounds that the "Emergency Broadcast device" gets "examined" left and correct, and by no skill looks to locate use in any actual emergencies, i will basically think of the form of folk who might pass off a real "Emergency Broadcast" as a "attempt" if a real emergency ever got here alongside. i might probably be considered one of them.

It is not happening in my place.
As long as they announce on air that it is an emergency test broadcast, I think it is ok.
And it is good to have test emergency broadcasts.
