My computer screens sometimes flashes. I have to move it around to get it started. Help! What's wrong?

My Dell computer is probably 4 years old. Have a flat screen.

Wonder if I need a new system or if this is symptomatic of a loose wire? When it flashes, the screen goes black, but the power knob flashes. Never had this problem before.

I have an acer flat screen and when I first got mine it did the exact same thing... usually when I jiggled the plug in the back of the screen, it worked for a little bit but it just did it again... I tried switching the power cord, but it did the same thing. I sent mine back to the company and apparently there was a broken connection.. they replaced it for free, so you could try that.

I had the same problem with a regular CRT monitor. Mine would give me problems for a while and then be fine again. After a few years, it finally stopped having a picture at all. I tried jiggling wires and that used to help, but not anymore. Your monitor is probably going out on you, but if it's like mine, you may get a couple more years out of it before it completely dies.
