How can I back up dvd's that have more than the standard of 4.36gb?

Do they make dvd's with more than this capacity (recordable)? Or what can I do to record them?

If your DVD writer supports it there is a Dual Layer format out there. Dual layer discs can hold 8 GB of information. The DVD's you want to back up are most likely dual layer DVD's.
