Who actually pays temporary workers?

Is it the temp. agency where temp. workers get their checks, or does the actual company where the temp. is working pay them directly???

    The temporary worker is actually an employee of the temp service and the temp service pays them. The company pays the temp service for providing this service and it is generally a set mark up percentage. For instance, if the employee earns $10 an hour, the company pays the temp service around $15 an hour and the temp service matches the social security taxes, handles admin costs, and generally covers their workers comp insurance as well. In some cases, the temp service offers benefits to the employees as well.

    The company pays the Temp agency, and then the Temp Agency cuts the worker a check.

    Temp agency pays their workers.. Companies who hire temp agencies pay the temp agencies.. Usually a substantial amount more than the temp worker is being paid.. When I was a temp CNA, I'd get like $12 per hour, the temp agency would get something like $20 per hour for me to be there.

    The company that the temp is working at pays the temp agency the salary + usually anywhere from 45-65% markup on the hourly rate. The check comes from the temp agency to the employee

    The temp agency pays the temp workers. The work site pays the temp agency a higher wage, out of which the temp agency pays themselves and pays you.

    the temp agency pays the employees. They do that because they get paid by the company at some agreed upon rate, and take out their cut (insurance, building, administrative costs, social security, etc.) then pay the temp what is owed. Alot of temp agencies charge twice what they are paying the temp.

    The temp. agency pays the temp. workers; the agency handles the payroll & issues paychecks.

    The client company pays the temp. agency a fee.

    the company pays the check to the temp worker, however the temp agency takes a cut of the hourly rate. for example, if a person works at HP for $15.00 and hour, the agency may take $3.00 an hour, so the person only ends up making $13.00 an hour.

    Temp agency pays you a percentage of what they charge the company who is using the services of a temp agency.

    the temp agency pays you, deducts taxes, etc. The client you are actually working for pays the temp agency a higher per hour fee for the agency's profit and employer taxes, etc
