Do you boxing fans believe boxing is a art !!!!!?

I do, because at it's finest you can marvel at the refined methods of mass destruction in a boxing ring. The fans marvel at it when the fight shifts into a different phase, from the skill movents of shot over another to sheer brutality and blood lost. Yet they cringe at it , but still come back for more. what is it that drives men to challenge each other and pound his opponent into submission or the knockout . Boxing by far is the most brutal of all full contact sports, since I lived it I understand it and see it in a totally different light than the average person would , I judge it different because all the angals leap out at me during the match. I truely believe it is a form of art !!!!

Update:

Boxing is like this big dance that radiates in circles , always moving left to right. Like a giant chess match each matching one another's move !!

Thirty percent skill + Seventy percent conditioning = Maximum artistic ability. Man, cats that haven't gone them ten rounds before just don't know what it feels like and the bottom line is that the artist that is in the best physical condition will be the strongest, fastest, most technically, mentally and the most aggressive artist on top of their game by the final bell if it last that long. Did that make sense? Okay then there were animals like Tyson that threw the big punch and then knocked everybody out until his endurance was put to test. I'd bite your ear off too if I knew that an @$$ whippin' was in my future. Buster Douglas was in better condition and painted a prettier picture. The Real Deal Holyfield was the better artist from jump street. Damn shame about his ear...

HELL YEAH! Because of all the reasons you said. I think MMA is a more brutal short-term sport. I.e. in MMA there is more of a chance some one will break something especially bones like femurs, ankles, etc. I do believe that boxing has a much longer effect on someones' body especially on the head.

Some do, much as any other 'martial art'.

I always thought that boxing was more often referred to as the 'Sweet Science'.

My superiors in the 'Corps' in one outfit tried to get me to box in class in organized 'smokers', but, with 7 years of Tae Kwon Do and other training already 'under my belt', it only took three rounds of 'no rules' to prove their 'best boy' boxing 'champ' wasn't much of a match for me. I couldn't hang with all the rules of boxing to begin with, too limiting, especially with no kicks, one's primary best offense/defense not allowed.

On the other hand, I think all this 'unlimited fighting' so popular nowadays is a perversion of the 'arts, as well.
