I have a new computer. I get on the Internet very quickly. But I can't access my e-mail...freezes...and I have

It freezes and I can't even close the window. I have to restart the computer to get it to work. What's happening?

Update:

It's a Dell. Vista Home basic edition... 1gb

dual core processor

160gb hard drive

Update 2:

I use Yahoo as my internet provider and for my e-mail.

    try thunderbird and download mail...

    just copy settings from outlook...it i s slow outlook i mean

    Are you on Outlook or Thunderbird? If so, and you have a lot of email, it would take some time for it to download and sort everything. I know outlook acts like it's crashed when it's downloading a ton of email. Let it sit for a while and see what happens.

    If your using webmail, llke hotmail or gmail, you might want to update your browser.
