What’s the deal? People ask where they can buy an item off the net, then put “not eBay” in their question

It's a bit hard to speculate on someone elses reasons for asking for a non-ebay site... maybe they are a banned user from ebay, maybe they want to ensure the item is from a retailer that will provide them with a warranty, maybe they want to be sure the item is new or want to be able to inspect the item prior to purchase.

There are any number of reasons why a person may not want to deal with ebay... as far as scamming and ebays ability to deal with bad sellers and buyers...I have used ebay and if you've ever had to go through the process of reclaiming you money it can take over 6 months... and if paypal is involved you can add another 6 to that..

Also, there are a lot of people who have scripts and program running on ebay as shill bidders, upping the proces.. there are programs for buyers that will buy at the last second... so for the average user it is far from a fair playing field.

Its becaus eeBay is all about the used things and people dont like second hand. Thats why people dont like eBay, they dont like used things. I love eBay, I actually bought my wedding dress off of there. It was custom made to me and was absolutley beautiful and EXACTLY what I wanted. I was a little weary of buying it from eBay, but after onths of searching dress ahops and ot finding anything, I got the dress of my dreams, and for 100 buck too!!
