Recommendations for a dirtbike?

I've been riding a quad for a few years and just rode a dirtbike for the first time. Want to buy one - I want something that is street legal and good off road. Auto or semi-auto start. People have recommended a CRF250 or an XR200. What do you think?

I meant an XL200

    See if you can test the Honda CRF230. It's popular now. It has the power and it handles well.

    My husband and son would definitly recommend the CRF250!
