Cakeflour vs All purpose flour?

I have a cake recipe that calls for 2 1/4 cups of cake flour. If i cant find any cake flour is it possible to use all purpose flour? and how much?

    Sift the all purpose flour a few times, and measure out 2 tablespoons less per cup. Cake flour is lighter, it's actually a different type of flour but you can use regular.

    Cake flour is milled from soft wheat so that the cakes come out with a finer texture but you can subsitute all purpose flower for cake flour by subtracting a quarter of a cup of all purpose flour from your recipe. As the above person suggests, I would shift the flour before measuring. Have fun baking!
