The larger moons and terrestrial planets are shaped by internal forces (such as volcanoes, molten cores,?
geologic activity, etc) and also by external forces (such as weathering, impact craters, etc.). They were able to retain some light weight elements in their atmospheres. What 2 planets and one moon might meet these criteria?

Please note that the previous answer given you is incorrect because Jupiter and Saturn are not Terrestrial planets, they are Jovian planets (gas giants). There are 4 Terrestrial planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. Because the question suggests they have retained some atmosphere we can eliminate Mercury. Because Venus has such a thick atmosphere and no running water it is less likely to experience weathering and impact craters than Mars or Earth so I would say Earth and Mars are the best answers. As for moons, I know Io is quite volcanically active. You can read all about them at http://www.nineplanets.org/
