Does the software you use to digitize albums (LP's) make any difference in the sound quality?
I have taken on the task of digitizing my album collection. I am using CakeWalk ver 5 and the current version of Audacity. It seems like there may be a difference but I haven't really checked it out yet. Does anyone know for sure if there is a difference?

no, there shouldn't be any difference. both will record and can export at CD quality. basically you can get the same quality that you can get out of your record player. audacity is nice though cause you can do a little editing to it if you need to. there is a change speed function that has the LP speeds as default speed changes. so basically you could record a full album at 72 rpm and then slow it down to the 33.5 or whatever you need it to be and save yourself some time! of course you'll probably loose a little quality doing that though,

i'm going to only pay attention to a track with undesirable high quality some cases. I generally delete undesirable high quality tracks off my iTunes as quickly as I get them, except the lyrics or something stands proud. i don't concepts tracks the place the verses have been recorded from a telephone in detention center, however.
