Is satellite radio already available in the Dominican Republic?

    it wont be available to purchase there due to FCC regulations but Sirius will work there. If you live in the DR and you have a friend with a US address you can order the Sirius satellite receiver from ebay then use your friends US address as the payment address on file. You could pay your monthly subscription online.

    Sirius works there XM does not. It works better set up at home rather than in a car. This is because in the US at any given moment the reciever is receiving a signal from at least 2 satellitles and terrestial repeaters. In the dominican republic you are often receiving reception from 1 satellite and no terrestial repeaters. so driving around you may recieve choppy reception as you go under trees and drive next to buildings.

    But set up at home-once you have a clear view of the sky, especially the western sky reception is perfect.
