having the music coming out of your speakers is most likely less distracting than having the headphones in your ears... if one of those earbuds fell out of your ear, you would be immediately distracted and you might look away from the road to dig it up and fit it back into your ear.

You also need to be aware of police sirens, ambulance sirens, cars honking...

It's not generally a good idea to talk on your cellphone while driving. You get wrapped up in your call and, even though your eyes may be on the road, you're really only half paying attention.

I think there's an accessory kit you can buy so you can plug your MP3 into your cigarette lighter and play it that way, though.

If in UK nothing illegal about it.....one poster said you had to hear things around you...what if you are profoundly deaf? No restriction on deaf people driving....the argument is that you are more easily distracted whilst speaking on the phone, but not as distracted listening to radio/music.

if only had one earpiece in then is acceptable using both peices is illegal much like a hands free kit use for one ear

your best bet is to connect mp3 into car stereo output and play through car stereo.

It would be illegal. Same as listening to a walkman back in the days was illegal while driving.

You can't use headphones while driving, that's illegal and dangerous.

yes,in Jessops, you can buy a kit that plays your mp3 through the car speakers and it's also wireless, you tune to a spare radio frequency, that's it,crystal clear sound.

You cant drive with headphones. You need to hear what is going on around you (sirens, etc.)
