When is Yahoo! going to allow discussions on news stories they post, again?

What are they afraid of?

Update:

kveryeffective: Then why is there no link to YA on the news stories? Where's the connection? Yahoo! didn't put too much thought into this one.

one of the concerns is how to moderate it. Do you have Yahoo members self moderate and if so,what gives them the right to determine whats offensive? Also, will they report people who may not agree with their views i/e if theres a news story on Bush and some one states they don't like the president, whats to stop a Bush supporter from filing a complaint.

The other issue is that people have used the Discussion to spew unnecessary hate. I have read discussions about a suicide bombing in Iraq just to have somebody say"I wish they would kill all those <place minority group here>".All of a sudden the discussion turns racial.Completely unnecessary but it happens.

When Steve Irwin died, there were alot of insensitive jerks making comments like, "I bet his wife needs some black penis" etc, etc.

If the people would have used the discussion page to make intelligent conversation as opposed to saying stupid statements unrelated to the story, the Discussion page would have never been removed.

This is the next generation of that discussion on news stories.

This just help knock down the number of trolls people have to deal with.

Most people post links in their posts.

Except for some stories we should all know about.

Yahoo doesnt want opinions that are not popular spoken on their websites. They call us trolls, just because we like to speak our mind. If thats what a troll is, so be it. Im one.

They will start again when they figure out how to block the trolls.

    Source(s): Wish they'd hurry up!
