System restore is off, greyed out, how do I get it back on?

The Off check box is clicked and greyed-out. I can not click the box to uncheck it and turn restore back on.. How would I get my restore function back turned on?

It sounds as though you are using a limited (non system) account. Log in to your computer with an Administrator account and you should be able to enable system restore.

Click on Start, then right click on My Computer icon, then click on Manage, then click the + on Services and Applications, and click on Services, and scroll down to System Restore Services and verify that it is set to Automatic. To do that click on Restore services in the upper Left corner of that window. That should do it.
