Just after he finished the work, he walked into the mountains and drank arsenic to kill himself. He thought he was an old failure and would never be recognized as a brilliant artist. He failed at the suicide attempt as well.
I've stood before the piece in Boston. You cannot comprehend the yellows in the painting unless you stand right there. You will be burned by the gold.

Mine is the Scream by Munch. To me it shows the anxiety that most people feel and keep inside. How tormented we all can feel at times.
