It's probably gone. Why is it gone? No idea. You can't really fix that error because it's trying to run a file used in starting up your computer, from your system files. Try going to microsoft.com and doing a windows update. If you have driver discs that came with you computer, install everything on them.

    Good luck

Go to the Event Viewer, located in the AdminstrativeTools, and look for error messages. Right click on the error message and select Properties.

Does the happen in safe mode? If not I would bet it will be driver related, being in the System32 folder.

Try rebooting the computer in safe mode and browsing to the c:\windows\system32 folder. Find the dll and delete it. You may also check the msconfig ( Go to start, then run, Type in Msconfig) Check the startup and see if that file dll is there. if so, uncheck it. reboot pc.

If it has only just appeared click start, all programs, accessories. tools , system restore. and restore to an earlier date. If you have had it a long time click my computer, then right click on drive C.then click properties tools tick both boxes and then click check now. it will reset you pc next time you switch on, it may take a long time depending on disc size. dont worry let it run.

this sounds like a possible ram memory problem. if you have more than one stick of ram take one out and start up the pc, see if you have errors. if you do, turn the pc off and take the one stick out and put the other one in. turn on the pc and see if you get the error. you may need to buy a new stick of ram. take the old ram to the store and show it to them so you will get new ram that is compatible to what you had before. one more thing i'd like to say is if you have 2 ram slots be sure you put matching ram sticks in each slot. i recently added a 1024 mb ram stick in one slot and had a 512 mb ram in the other and got those same type errors. my system eventually crashed and i had to reload the os. this kept happening until eventually i took out one of the ram sticks. now it's running fine. good luck!

Seems to me the file is corrupt.

Go to Microsoft download site and search for the file you need.

    When found, install it.

try tapping f8 on startup to go to safe mode. If this works, I'd check add remove programs and see if there's any spyware...
