If you're lifting weights, you could be gaining muscle mass...and that's a good thing even though the scale number may have gone up. Ask yourself how your clothes are fitting, if they're looser, then you're doing the right thing. The numbers will eventually go down if you stay consistent with your diet and exercise. Make sure you do cardio too though!

-Atkins sux.
-If you gain muscle you will gain weight.
-97 percent of people who diet gain everything back that they lost in a year. 99 in two years.
-This is not because they slack off and go off the diet. It's because the body fights and slows its metabolism to get back to its natural weight.
-Most of the time you gain back more.
-Lose the diet, jog and lift the weights.

Sure, you can. Muscle is heavier than fat. If you're lifting weights, there is a good chance you will build some muscle mass.

Try to add more things like walking/jogging, riding bike, going to the gym, etc. into your plan and that might lower your risk if you are concerned
