Why is a raised bed more comfortable than a mattress on the floor ?
Why is it more comfortable to sleep on a bed that is raised (via box-spring and/or bed frame) than sleeping with the mattress just on the floor ?

A raised bed is more comfortable because the bed has a bit of "give" to it. The mattress feels harder when it's on the floor. (As you get older, you will probably find that the mattress on the floor feels best!)

At least for the average adult, a raised bed is much more easier to get in and out of compared to a mattress on the floor.
