Can't Focus? My son is in 5th grade. Failed his 2 subjects.?

He had high grades during 1-4th grade, but now i think he suddenly lacks attentiveness during class. Doesn't listen to his teacher and can't complete the notes they're writing. What should we do?

ever had the same problem here.

i can't focus on my study when i was at 6-7th grade.

i had high grades before that. and that wasn't because i was studying, but just because i get interested in every subject, so i was always listening.

after that, i was just bored with studying things. the subjects after that seems like a repeat from before, just more difficult. so i just lost interest.

maybe you should try searching for more interesting way to study for your kid.

(if that is not the case, maybe you should ask your son if he's having problems with his friends/teachers that bothers him)

    Source(s): good luck =)

Talk to your sons counsler and teacher. Also maybe the things they are learning in class are easy for him and he might get bored. Good Luck!

Did he undergo any major change in his life? Something traumatic or did he loose something/someone he deems important (perhaps a pet or a loved one)? Counselling would indeed help uncover this.

OR PERHAPS....maybe your son is gifted... and he's bored with his current subjects... he may need new challenges...

Try to find out what caused his behaviors, and work out those problems with him. Also, talk to the teacher and counselor.
