As a parent/relative/friend... what topics do you think need to be addressed within an Abstinence program?

If you're talking about sexual abstinence, highlight the advantages of waiting to discover one's sexuality with a mutually exclusive person, plus all the usual stuff about health and psychological risks involved.

If you're talking about drug abstinence, show them examples of people affected by drugs, and disabled people, and the majority of people in the world who live in poverty, and highlight how lucky the kids are to have healthy bodies, and that they should make the most of their young, healthy bodies, instead of wrecking them :)

I think that workshops with all the necessary material (such as short movies, pamphlets, newsletters, posters, etc) that would capture the attention of the youth. As they are captured by the music, music videos and video games - a similar approach is required where their attention is captured by the information provided to them.
