Are they worth buying?
My first baby is due on the 5th December so its going to be pretty cold the first few months of my babies life. Are those Sleeping bags/Gro bags worth buying for 0 to 6 month old? I have a 6 to 18 month one already but should I invest in a couple of 0 to 6 ones too? Do people who buy them actually use them?
Thanks
I called them gro bags because there is a make of them called gro bags!!

My daughter was born in November and I was worried about her kicking off her blankets like her brother had done, so I got a gro bag and it worked fine - they stay warm and you can unzip them to change nappies without much disturbance. Of course you need to make sure it's not too high a tog rating in case your little one gets too hot, which can be dangerous. Best of luck with the birth!

I bought one size 0-6 months but i never used it...i swaddled her in two blankets, a wool one first, and had a baby duvet on the lower part of her body (she was born in feb) and when she was three months and became a wriggly worm i swapped for the sleeping bag which was good. But i didn't like the bag earlier than that caouse i felt she got cold without anything covering her arms...but i did and still have grobags, baby duvet and blankets, she changes every week so i keep chanigng what i wrap her in
The only thing i don't like about the bags is that the thickest one a 2.5 tog and her room is always 19 degrees and when she wakes up her skin is very cold so im not convinced it's warm enough through the winter but we'll see...
Hope this helps

My son is now 18 weeks old and initially he preferred to be swaddled when he slept in his crib. However for the last 6 weeks he has been sleeping in his cot and sleeps in his sleeping bag, which has been fantastic as he's become quite a wriggler and we had a few scary moments when we found him with his blankets over his face as he had kicked them up. I've got a couple of 0-6 months bags and they fit my little boy fine even though he's a big boy (over 20lb), and there is still a bit of room in them. I'd maybe wait and see what your little one prefers as swaddling is really comforting for new borns at the beginning.

You won't need one straight away. It is best to wrap (swaddle) your baby for the first 3 months (or until they can roll) and use a small heater in their room to regulate the temperate day and night, you will need a temperate gauge in their room. After 3 months gro-bags are great, all three of my children have used them for at least 2 years. My daughter learnt to walk around in hers with a foot in each corner. Most have holes in the right places for car seat and pram straps so you can wear them in the car and then transfer straight to bed. Don't race out and buy them yet a bigger size will be fine.

I absolutely love the sleeping/gro bag I put my daughter in one when she was 6 weeks (when she stopped being swaddled) they are fantastic because you don't need to worry about them kicking the covers off and they stay snug and warm all night.
My daughter is 10 months now and gets a bit tangled up in it when she stands up in her cot so we are moving on to an all in one suit.
I'll really miss the sleeping bag though!
I say go for it!

I think they are wonderful, I only started using them when my son was a bit older though, so I don't know, I guess they would be more useful when the baby starts getting wriggly lol.
I think they're great because you don't have to worry about the baby kicking off the covers and getting cold, or sliding down underneath the blankets. I would say go for it, I'm sure they do something towards preventing cot death, as long as they are the right thickness for the room temperature.
Congratulations on your first baby!

swaddle blankets for tiny babes, gro-bags for 3 months +. I don't use anything else, they are great! just watch baby doesn't overheat in them, I keep my babies unzipped a little to allow air in

my son is 15 months old n i never bought one but with the winter coming i am considering buying one as my son does not like having blankets on him no matter what sort they are he just cries n kicks them off then goes back to sleep, so im getting a little worried that he will get really cold during the night, so sometimes yeah i think they are a good idea.

The PS4 is probably going to come out anywhere from 2014-2016 most likely, definitely not this year. I think getting a PS3 will be a good investment, you'll definitely get your moneys worth out of it.

I'm sorry sweetie but your term 'gro-bags' just has me in fits...I imagine your baby growing in between tomato plants in the greenhouse!
Seriously, you wont know how big your baby will be until its born , why not wait to see whether it will have more than 2 weeks in the first size until you part with your cash..Good luck hun!
