Missing Question?
I was following the progress on a question I answered and it has disappeared, no explanation. It concerned Southern states with the best Southern hospitality. There was nothing abusive in the question, or in any of the answers I saw. But it's gone, and there is no explanation for why it was removed. Could it have been removed because someone was offended? (I can't imagine why!) But it disappeared about the time the new abuse and removal thing allowing users to remove abuse started.

By mistake somebody would have clicked something and it would have disappeared Why do not you try to write the same question again and get the answers. I am interested to answer your question. Yours VRVRAO

Once a question has answers, it can be removed for several reasons:
1. Goes to voting, "No Best Answer" gets chosen by vote
2. Reported for abuse and removed
3. Askers account closed by YA and all questions removed.
4. Asker removes it themself (some do, who know why!)
The "report abuse" system has been in place from the very beginning of this site. The only real difference recently has been the "weighting" of the reports by whether or not the person doing the reporting is "reliable" in the long run. Questions and answers often get reported for what "we" may perceive as little or no reason.
