I didn't but its not unheard of. Usually in early labor, the staff will have you try to attempt a bowel movement when you get to the hospital, and you may have loose bowels a few days before you actually go into labor, so the concern with it is minimal.

I didn't, I think because I couldn't keep any food down the 12 hours prior to giving birth so everything was already out of me.

Generally yes....it depends on how long its been since she's eaten. The pressure of the baby's head passing through the birth canal will generally cause the bowels to expel.

The answer is "yes". They can. And if they do, no one will laugh or make fun of. It's a natural thing that will happen when you are pushing.
No big deal. The nurses will even tell you that.

It happens to some women when they are pushing. Luckily it didn't happen to me, but I've heard of it happening before. No worries though...the doctors and nurses are used to it. ;o)

Can you rephrase that please...
Is it possible for women to excrete while giving birth?
Yes, but really, the muscle energy is going into pushing the baby out, not her dinner from a week ago.
