what is difference between turtle and tortise?
I wanted to buy a turtle or a tortise as a pet, so just wanted to know the basic difference and which one of the two makes a better pet and which one survives longer and grows bigger, and the basic info like what they eat and how many times a day n stuff like that....

Turtles live in water. Tortoises live on land. It seems to me that maintaining a wet habitat is more difficult than a dry one. As far as the rest of your questions are concerned, I suggest an encyclopedia.

A tortise lives in dry areas like the desert, and a turtle lives in water as well as on land but must have a wet environment.
I think it depends on the type of turtle or tortise as far as the care and life span.

Turtles are semi-aquatic. Tortoises' are mainly terrestrial. turtles dine mostly on fish, worms, leeches, etc. Tortoises dine on fruits and veggies. Turtles don't live as long or get as big. turtles have webbed feet for swimming, tortoises have column shaped feet like an elephant. as far as how many times a day you feed them.... just keep fresh food in their enclosure so they can eat whenever they want. dont let perishable food sit in there for over 4-6 hours. always replace it with fresh greens, veggies, fruits. Dont let dead fish or worms pollute a turtles enclosure.
good luck
