xhtml and css help?

do you use notepad to write a css?and if so is the extension .css? like xhtml? Im just starting and am unsure!

    Well, I used to use notepad for CSS, still do to edit it some. But I found that Top Style made it so much easier I switched to it. One of the better tools for xhtml and css.

    Yes css files should be saved with .css extensions.

    I use either Wordpad or Winsyntax (this one colors coding). But you can use Notepad as well. For external stylesheets you need to create files with .css extensions.
