Aren't we all atheists?
The way I see it, an Atheists disbelieves in all gods.
A religious person disbelieves in all gods bar one.
So aren't we all the same, atheists just going one god further?
So let me guess this right, it's perfectly plausable to deny Allah as he's obviously not real, but open your arms to the christian God, because he obviously is? (or vice versa ad infinitum).
Sounds like double standards.

No, not really. A religious person believes in a god/s and an Atheist doesn't.

I am going to have a drink for this.
If you want I can ask if all Atheists are Agnostic because they would accept the idea of a God if provided with proof.
Surely that means they're Agnostic.
Pagans believe in different numbers of Gods, meaning they dont discount all Gods bar one.
Buddhists don't worship a God, meaning they're Atheist and religous.

what? No, we are all not atheists! I'm not!
Atheism, as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods[1] or rejects theism.[2] When defined more broadly, atheism is the absence of belief in deities,[3] alternatively called nontheism.[4] Although atheism is often equated with irreligion, some religious philosophies, such as secular theology, or some varieties of Theravada Buddhism, lack belief in a personal god.
Many self-described atheists are skeptical of all supernatural beings and cite a lack of empirical evidence for the existence of deities. Others argue for atheism on philosophical, social or historical grounds. Although many self-described atheists tend toward secular philosophies such as humanism[5] and naturalism,[6] there is no one ideology or set of behaviors to which all atheists adhere.[7]
The term atheism originated as a pejorative epithet applied to any person or belief in conflict with established religion.[8] With the spread of freethought, scientific skepticism, and criticism of religion, the term began to gather a more specific meaning and was sometimes used as a self-description by atheists.

This question has been asked so much I'm considering adding it to the drinking list.
If I believe in just one God, that makes me a theist. It doesn't matter how many I disbelieve in. I may be 99.99% atheistic, but I'm still not an atheist.

Who taught you your religion lessons? Apparently you skipped those!!!!
The name GOD came be used for many different things. It is used in many different forms. Jehovah, Buddha, Allah, and many, many more.
GOD is something we worship. A higher power we give thanks and praise to.
My question to you is why are you an Atheist. How far does your Atheist being go? If you are sitting on the street dying in retching pain would you not cry out to a higher power to help you and save you? You don't have to believe in GOD per say, just something.

There are religions that have several Gods. Christians (Muslims and Jews as well) only believe in one god, so yes, they would be closer to the atheism than pagans for example
