Can I get a job with a misdeamor in the clerical field in california?

and the probation was completed last year

    It depends whether the employer feels that you are good for the job, whether you have a misdeanmor or not.

    The question is what was the nature of the crime. That's what employers look at. There is no doubt that you can work, so yes to your question. Don't be misled by criminal conviction(s) and employment.

    what I mean about the nature of the crime is if you were convicted for assault a lot of employers my not hire you because they feel that you may be a risk to the work place and hurt a co-worker and or client.

    Now if you was convicted for say shop lifting, there is no reason why you can't do clerical work.

    Remember this for future reference. Look for employment that doesn't relate to the conviction you have. Don't be discourage by your conviction because many of these employer(s) are crooks too, they just don't know yet. A lot of employers are robbing their own employee one way or another. Some companies when they file tax's at the end of the year lie to get over on the system.
