Make sure wild skunk is not diseased, mainly by examining internal organs. Most wild skunks will be full of parasites/worms. Avoid eating those, and just harvest thier pelts. Wonderful fur.
Honestly-skunks aren't worth the effort because I've got to kill so many to find palatable ones. Squirrels are better for eating, and of course everyone loves wild rabbit. All with good useful fur too.

yes! Clean the skunk well, then rinse one more time. Soak it in butter milk for at least 12 hours. Crank up the grill. Season the skunk with the salad dressing of your choice, wrap in tinfoil. when the fire is ready place the skunk on the grill and place an oak 2" x 4" under it. Do not turn the skunk. Let it cook for at least 3 hours and during the course of cooking punture small holes in the tin foil. After 3 hours pull the skunk and 2" x 4" off the grill. Let it cool for 20 minutes. Now throw the skunk away and eat the 2"x 4". A bit tough; but delicious. Heck of a lot better than the skunk. Oh, and 2 or 3 bottles of Merlot go well with your dinner.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://biturl.im/aU7N0
The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

The secret is: tide laundry detergent,that's right,just like chitlins,skunk taste better when marinated in tide soap.
Just a tad of time and heck.ain't no need to season it. the soapy tasting phosphates leave an effervescent taste to the calming greasy skunky flavor.even better the next day! served with sweet tater and collards.

First, you have to clean the critter properly. So many people just don't know how to cleanly butcher anything. If the critter has sprayed, don't bother. If it hasn't ... skin it carefully, not letting the fur touch the meat. Also - you have to be very careful to not break the glands that produce the scent when you gut him. Generally ... don't bother. It is possible to eat skunk, but unless you really know what you are doing, don't.

You must prepare them right. pen them up, feed crushed corn with molasses in it for 6 months. This rids them of SOME of the bad taste and odor.
On the day you kill one, remove his tail first, soak the tail in vinegar 5 hours. Put theskunk in a pot of hot water after skinning an cleaning. Sawe the hide, hang it in the sun to dry while the meat is boiling slowly in a pot of water with olive oil in it.{ 2 tablespoons of oil per pound of meat.}
Boil 1/2 hour per lb. of meat.
Place in oven @ 325 degrees before placeing in oven, add 1 clove of garlic per lb. of meat on the inside of meat. Cook till tender. rest directions are below.
When done let cool on table covered with paper towels. Slice meat same as carveing a turkey.
After trying to eat this go out side look @ the hide an say omgggggggggggg, I tryed to eat a skunk

You have to remove their scent glands immediately after they are dead. Slow cook them with plenty of vegetables and spices!
