How Do you transfer music from an I-Pod shuffle to a windows xp home edition?

Is there a way to export the music without erasing and syncing first?

yeah here's how you do it on an ipod nano, video, classic and so on - i would think it would work for the shuffle too!!

before you do anything make sure you start out with a clean iTunes library. and make sure you have copy music to iTunes music folder selected under preferences so you are saving the music to your hard drive (go to edit in iTunes tool bar > then to preferences!!)

open iTunes > connect the iPod > select manually manage music and enable disk use> go to my computer and open the iPod folder >

select tools >folder options > when folder options appear click the view tab > select show hidden files and folders and click apply

click OK to dismiss the folder options > dbl ckick the iPod icon and a file will appear called iPod control> open iPod control folder >

inside locate the music folder > Drag the folder to your desktop and it will copy all the music that's on your iPod to you desk top.

allow that to complete. once it's done you will open it and see all kinds of files that are encoded F00 - F?? depending on how many folders

you have. hightlight the folders and drag them to your open iTunes library.
