What shapes are photons if they have a specific shape?

Photons are generally thought to be spherical, but being packets of energy with no mass (cough cough Mr. K), they really could be any shpae. Do photons have a specific shape that can be measured through experiments? Has it ever been done?

In modern theories of quantum electrodynamics, photons (and the other fundamental particles, too) are described mathematically as point objects. They aren't actually thought to be spherical at all, so if someone told you that, then they are giving you bad information.

You can think of a photon as a mathematical point, with no physical shape or dimensions, and with behavior that is described by wave equations.

Nope, no shape. Just a single particle of light with no structure.
