A couple ways:
1) To view the saved FLV and SWF files install the latest version of
RealPlayer Free
This works much better than other FLV players I used before.
Also allows you to save the file onto your computer in youtube and other sites.
OR
VLC Media Player
http://www.download.com/VLC-Media-Player/3000-1363...
In addition to playing most video files, it also plays MPEG-2 files that often require a purchased decoder, as well as most other formats including AVI, VOB Files and FLV and SWF file
2) Open the file with your browser IE; Firefox; Opera. Flash player only works in your browser so if you want to play them with flash player they must play in your browser.
Either:
a) Open Browser > File > Open > Choose SWF file.
b)Another method is to double click on the SWF file. When you try to open the swf file the first time a dialog box appears Windows can not open this file what do you want to do?
Choose "Select a program from a list"
For IE, select the Internet Explorer icon from list
For Firefox click on "browse button" find and select "firefox.exe"
Path: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
Once you are sure you like the way it works, repeat the above procedure and click on "always use this program to open this file type" and you are done.
If you associated the swf files with the wrong program no dialog box will appear an error message will appear xxx can't open the file. Click on "my computer" Then "tools" then folders then file types. Look for the SWF extension, highlight the line and then click delete.

Here is another link for downloading stand-alone flash player. There are other tools too.
Actually, Adobe has a download page for standalone flash player of any versions. Check the second link.

just drag and drop the SWF files them into Chrome, that worked for me! You still need a browser, but I guess this is still kind of what you want right??

have a free trial of moyea swf to video converter pro, though it is a converter, but when you import swf files in single mode, it can play automaticly, in batch mode, you should double click it , what's more, you can import swf in your IE cache
