Job market in America?

What do you all think of the job market in America? I was a director of sales at my company which did over $ 200 million a year in sales. I built it from the ground up and it was a Fortune 100 company. We built the division and our board of directors sold us out for a huge profit. They gave us a severance package and stuff but that was a year and a half ago. I have been looking for a new job and it hasn't been that great a market for me. I went to a top teir University and did well. I am well known in my industry but for some reason haven't got a new job yet. I have offers but they aren't that great. I don't know why because I am a great candidate. I thought being really successful and all in my industry would help but it really hasn't. I am known as a gunslinger that turns businesses around and do really great financially for the companies I work with. What do you think I can do to get hired. I have had interviews but they take forever. HELP !!!

Sales is undergoing tremendous change right now because of the Internet. Other than that, which I assume you already knew, companies don't want hotshots anymore, they want team players. Companies are leery of bringing in people who want to shake things up and instead want people who can cultivate their brands, right or wrong.

I don't know your industry, and every industry is different, I know. But after scandals in various industries have caused public mistrust across the board, many companies are getting more conservative in how they put their reputations on the line. I am guessing you come across as a take-no-prisoners hotshot to a recruiter, so I would say you should be focusing more on ROI and how you would be an overall asset to the company.

The job market in cringing right now meaning.. with economics (money) being the central reason that more companies are merging and right-sizing the a job seeker has got to be realistic and keep searching.

With your skills.. you might come out better hiring a head hunter. One that you feel most comfortable with..interview them and see what they have to offer. Then also you may want to consider, taking a job that pays a little less.. just to get your foot in the door.

Because competition in the job seeker category is stiffer that ever before you have simply got to be able to sell your self in a way that you are comfortable and they are comfortable in hiring you..

Sure you have heard of the old word,, networking.. well that too has changed.

In your previous company you were the leader, and such skills are great. However in this case you may have to become a follower and then gain your stabilty to lead. In other words be willing to sacrafice in order to gain more later.

Also look at what your industry is doing now and reconnect on a different level. Think about some of the old vendors that you use to work with..see what they are offering. Right now it is O.K. to be selective BUT you have to be more humble in order to move into the new career.

Like I said before employers are looking for leaders BUT they are looking for those who are opt to receiving instructions even though you may know just a more if way more than they do..

Revamp yourself, contact a head hunter and get back out there. Sell yourself, be a little more patient and watch it all fall into place.

Now is the time of the baby boomer!!! For the next 18 years a Baby Boomer will retire on average every 8 seconds. The Baby Boomers have single handily changed this country. Many are in retirement now... with time and money. What do people with more time and and more money do??? They travel!!! It's not lotions and potions and pills and powders...it's not long distance or financial services...IT'S TRAVEL!!! We're selling RECESS they're selling social studies!! The best opportunity for a home based business is an on-line travel business. Think about it...if you had more time and more money what would you do more of??? Travel, travel, travel. It's such a fun business, anybody would love it!!! If you would like to find out more about what I'm sharing with you, email me and I will get you the proper introduction to this explosive industry. 7 trillion dollars were spent on travel last year and the experts believe it will boom to 10 trillion very soon. In the USA 1.3 trillion was spent on travel, that's 2.5 million every 60 seconds. Also, over 80% of that travel was booked on line. It's the biggest industry on the planet!!! If you know people; friends or family, who travel and book that travel on-line then you already have a customer base that can at the very least, afford you the same perks and privileges that travel agents receive and the tax benefits of a business owner. Not to mention every time you travel you get paid and you can legitimately write off a huge portion of that travel, we don't take vacations we take PAYCATIONS!!! As far as building a residual income the possibilities are endless, it is all up to you. You could also help any nonprofit organization that you are a supporter of, like your church, kid's soccer club or what have you, with a fund raising program that is 24-7-365 forever. My home based on-line travel business has the same deals if not better than Travelocity, Orbitz, Hotels.com or any other heavily advertised travel site in the world. The difference is that when my family, friends and acquaintances book travel instead of some unknown entity receiving the profits, my home based business receives the lion's share of those profits. Why do you think Mr. Diller spent 5.1 billion dollars for expedia, let me put it this way if you were to spend 5.1 billion dollars do you think you'd do a little research??? Did you know that Travelocity spends 5 million dollars on advertising a week to get you to go to there site? Network Marketing is all about word of mouth, the savings in advertising goes to the REPS. To top it off the company I am partnered with has a bullet proof offer. If you are willing to invest your time, effort and energy along with less than $2300.00 US dollars the organization guarantees you a $6000.00 return in 12 months. There is no other investment vehicle that I am aware of that can offer you that kind of return on investment in one year. They do this because they believe their system works if you work it. What they are saying is that "we have a system that works and we stand behind this system with the guarantee." The initial investment does not have to be $2300.00 you can start your turn key operation with less than $500.00 and you get your very own on-line travel agency with the same hotels, airlines, rental cars, cruise lines etc. etc. etc. This is not a get rich quick scheme, you will have to commit to your own success and there will be people like me to assist you in capturing your dreams rather then wishing for them to come true. Good luck to you in your quest for financial freedom.
