If you were walking down the street one way and I the other way, would you say hello?

What are your thoughts when you pass a stranger?

I would automatically smile and say either "Hi" or "Hello" as I grew up in a small town of less than 2000 people and it is something we have always done. It just comes naturally to me. Surprisingly, even in today's world, normally people will respond in kind with at least a smile or a response of a "Hi" OR a "Hello" back. It is amazing what a small smile will do for people. :o)

How scary do you look? If you looked normal (in my opinion...like if you had green hair, a strange saying on your t-shirt, if you looked like a real bum or a drunk or someone who was weaving, or if you had lots of tattoos, or if you had piercings or if I noticed you rode in on a motorcycle or if you wore a rider's leather jacket or looked like part of a gang or had weird looking eyes like you were up to something then I would not say hello). I'd probably say hello, or at least respond to you, if you weren't a stranger, and I'd seen you around before.

I f you said hello, i would say hi back but if ya quiet then i would probably look at you and look away.

My thoughts on people on the streets depends on the way they come out, if they have that little extra in the ordinary i will probably stare and maybe smile.

If we're on the same side of the street, yes, I almost always say "hello." I can't think of a time when I wouldn't; unless you were really creepy and freaked me out. If you look relatively normal I'd say "hi." Other side of the street, no I wouldn't. I don't want to yell.

I continually say hi. i attempt to be friendly to every person, and that i don't desire to look rude or caught up by skill of ignoring them. from time to time I in basic terms get a grimy seem or a nod or they act bowled over I stated hi lol. maximum folk i discover smile and say hi or how are you.

My first impact is to smile friendly, if he seems friendly enough i nod my head and say "Hello" :)

Of course i'd say hello. Maybe stop and have a chat if you're not in much of a hurry

I'm a friendly sort,I always look at people and make eye contact,if I see a face that is receptive,I say hello.

    I start with eye contact.

If you maintain eye contact with me long enough for you to see me smile at you, then I will say hello.

If you are an attractive woman or an interesting looking individual, I might say hello anyway.

I don't speak to strangers on the street.

Depends on how the other person is carrying themselves - if they look towards me I'll at least wave and if they look at me, I'd say hi to them and do like reporter or reporters said casually chat possibly.
