Problem Turning On Vaio Laptop...?
Recently I've had problems starting up my computer... The Vaio logo will come up, then the screen will turn blank and remain that way for a few minutes, at which point I restart it. After enough tries, it will turn on. Anyone know what the problem could be or how to fix it? I really can't afford a new computer right now and need it for school.

The thing that says Viao is the Bios. That is on the chips themselves, and is loading. Your problem is due to the hardrive you are trying to boot from. The read-write head is not getting back to the landing sector every time. Think of it like a record. every time you finish the album, the pin slips off, and you have to put it back on to play the record again. Well, a hard drive pushes that back automatically so it can start (boot) again. Your hard drive isn't putting that pin back to the start. But after it gets shaken around a bit, it finds its way back there. That's impossible to fix without taking apart or replacing the hard drive. Sorry for the bad news.
PS: This is NOT a software issue, don't let anyone tell you that it is. The fact that sometimes it works guarantees that.
